Steve Gottlieb brings a distinctive background and skill set to SG Business Creativity's Presentations and Workshops. For 35 years, he has had a front row seat in watching the creative process in a wide-range of contexts. Steve graduated from Columbia University College and Law School
and practiced law in two large firms and the Federal government. He left law for the corporate world, becoming Environmental Director for a company in the energy business. In those positions, he represented clients, managed a professional staff, reported to a board of directors, shaped corporate policies, and served on White House task forces.
In a mid-life career shift, Steve became a professional photographer, producing images for a long list of Blue Chip clients. He is the photographer--as well as author and designer--of five acclaimed coffee-table books. One of his books was selected "Gift Book of the Year" by both People magazine and USA Today. Eastman Kodak designated Steve a "World-Class Kodak Professional Icon," one of only six photographers so honored. In 2004, Steve established Horizon Photography Workshops; he and a dozen colleagues draw students from across the United States. (www.horizonworkshops.com). American Photo magazine recently recognized Horizon as one of the 12 Outstanding Travel Workshops in the United States. Steve divides his time between Horizon Photography Workshops and SG Business Creativity.
In his free time, Steve is an avid music and classic movie fan and a competitive tennis player (he was ranked #1 in men's 35, 40 and 45 age divisions in the Middle Atlantic region). He is the father of two grown sons and resides in Chesapeake City, Maryland, where Horizon Workshops is headquartered.
